Pope’s Remarks at Odds with Inter-religious Dialog
Wednesday, September 20, 2006
“Dialog among civilizations is a good project underway while in the opposite direction war of civilizations is moving forward,” said a member of the National Expediency Council.
“US conspiracies in Iraq, Afghanistan and Lebanon intensify the war of civilization. The US believes it is involved in a new world war, and at a starting point for invading other countries,” said Mohammad-Hasan Ghadiri Abyaneh.
“Inter-religious dialog could facilitate interaction and strengthening ties between nations. However, international powers ruling the war of civilizations not only refuse to join the campaign but also commit war crimes and invasions,” he added.
“The Pope’s remarks in accordance the warmongers’ campaign which aims at cultural confrontation,” he said.
“As the Supreme Leader said the Pope was deceived by the US. Such remarks as the Pope’s will not help promote inter-religious dialog,” Ghadiri Abyane went on to say.
“I believe that Pope’s remarks were premeditated and and stemmed from religious prejudice. We should remember that Vatican, which today talks about rationality and reason, used to burned scientists for scientific research, while at that time Islam introduced gaining science as a form of worshipping God, and the “ink of a scholar’s pen superior to the blood of a martyr. And now the Pope accuses Islam of opposing reason” he said.
“All Muslims should be careful and aware of the Global Arrogance’s plots to trigger war among civilizations and religions,” he said.
